Four things that get you the right truck first time

- 02Weight and dimensionsRoughly is fine. Width and height decide more than weight does — that is what makes a load oversize.
- 03Does it roll?Driving on and winching on are different jobs with different rigging and different times on site.
- 04Site accessGravel, gumbo, a tight yard, a steep approach. This is the detail that most often turns a one-truck job into a two-truck job.

- What is the heaviest thing you can move?
- Our decks and heavy wreckers handle construction plant, articulated dump trucks, forklifts, agricultural tractors, tank and vac units and highway tractors. The practical limit is usually width and height rather than weight — tell dispatch the dimensions and weight and you will get a straight answer about whether it goes on our deck or needs a specialist lowbed.
- Do you move equipment that does not run or drive?
- Yes. A machine that will not start, will not roll or has a seized drivetrain is winched on rather than driven on. Say so when you call, because it changes the truck, the rigging and the time on site.
- Can you recover equipment that has gone off a lease road or into a ditch?
- Yes — that is heavy recovery rather than hauling, and it is what the wreckers exist for. Off-road recovery depends on ground conditions and access, so the more you can tell us about the approach, the better the truck that arrives.
- How is heavy haul priced?
- It is quoted, not metered. Distance, weight, dimensions, whether it rolls, and site access all change the number. Phone with those details and you get a price before anything is committed.
- Do you need notice, or can you come today?
- Emergency recovery is dispatched as fast as we can get a suitable truck to you, day or night. Planned equipment moves are better booked ahead — you get a better slot and usually a better rate than a same-day scramble.
